A Pall Mall cigarette is a brand of cigarettes produced by R.J.Reynolds Tobacco Company for the USA market mainly, whereas outside the United Stated Pall Mall is manufactured and sold by British American Tobacco.
Pall Mall brand was introduced in 1899 by Butler & Butler Company with hope to attract the upper class with the first "premium" cigarette. The company sold Pall Mall to American Tobacco in 1907.The same year Pall Mall cigs were subjected to some changes in their design - standardization of a cigarette's length (known as a King Size) and a new way of tobacco packing. New filtered Pall Mall appeared at the market in 2001. Nowadays R.J.R. produces unfiltered and filtered Pall Mall cigarettes.
